Description: This seminar investigates the distinctions humans make between forms of life: for example, animal vs. plant vs. mineral. Students will engage critical and scholarly readings and produce a range of writing as the class interrogates these categories, the relations between them, and the porous boundaries that don’t always hold up. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for FWIS 126 if student has credit for PHYS 143.
