Description: In this creative writing seminar, students will explore literary translation as an art form that engages close reading, creativity, inclusivity, and empathy in order to amplify voices from other languages and cultures. Work for the course will include a translation manifesto, a portfolio of creative work with original translations, and both critical and reflective essays. Students will be asked to submit a statement of language proficiency on the first day of class. Course counts toward the English Creative Writing Concentration (ECRW).
