The E. coli has been transformed with a plasmid that produces beta-galactosidase. Engineering applications are emphasized. Some work "off hours" (early evening) is required. Sections 1 and 2 are taught in the first half of the semester and Sections 3 and 4 are taught in the second half of the semester. Section sign-up is required by the instructor in Keck 108 during preregistration week.
