Description: Formerly SPAN 345. Explores key issues in Latin American culture. Important aspects of the contemporary situation in Latin America are also studied, including phenomena such as globalization, the rise of mega-cites, migration, authoritarianism, the impact of colonization and the rise of national states. Recommended Prerequisite(s): SPAN 301, 302, 303, 312, or Permission of the Instructor.
