Description: This course will explore women's contributions to the Civil Rights Movement. We'll examine how through formal and informal leadership roles, grassroots organizing, performative arts and theoretical contributions, women negotiated the complex terrain of place, race, gender and class within the Civil Rights Movement and American society.
