Description: The course examines the dynamics of urban politics and policy in an emerging global city - Dubai. In addition to social, political, and economic issues, we will focus on history, culture, language, architecture and the arts. Weekly class sessions will include case studies, guest lectures, and group work on research projects. The lab also features an 8 day field research trip to Dubai. Prerequisites may be taken the same semester with POLI/ASIA 345. Cross-list: POLI 345.
