Description: The fundamentals of micro scale energy transport will be introduced. The lattice vibrations contributing to phonon (thermal energy carrier), the inverse space for deriving the micro scale transport equation, phonon eigen spectrum (acoustic and optical phonon), thermal interface resistance, and comparison of prediction with measurements will be covered. This will be a 2-credit hour course. Repeatable for Credit.
