Description: Coverage of mathematical topics used in economics, such as linear algebra, optimization, and real analysis, with applications to fundamental topics in economic theory, such as consumer choice, cost minimization and constrained optimization, game theory and auction theory. Emphasizes logical clarity and mathematical rigor, along with the ability to follow and construct mathematical proofs. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for ECON 308 if student has credit for ECON 401.
