Description: The RUSP program is designed for students in any department who may be considering graduate school and/or careers in research or scholarship. The course centers on individual research projects that are supervised by a faculty member, who is identified by the student. This faculty member meets regularly with the student and serves as a mentor. Modest funds are available to support costs of the research projects. Mandatory weekly class meetings feature presentations on topics related to research and scholarship. In addition, each student prepares a written proposal on their project and gives an oral presentation defending the proposal. Enrollment by permission of course faculty, based on applications submitted in the previous Spring term.
