Description: This course will cover Bayesian methods for analyzing data. The emphasis will be on applied data analysis rather than theoretical development. We will consider a variety of models, including linear regression, hierarchical models, and models for categorical data. Computational methods will be emphasized. STAT 422 will have assignments and examinations focusing more on basic concepts than on theoretical methods. Cross-list: STAT 622. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for STAT 422 if student has credit for STAT 622.
