Description: Modeling, Simulation, and Visualization via MATLAB. Numerical methods: Newton's method in one and several dimensions. Gaussian elimination and optimization. Application to problems in science and engineering. Lectures are held Monday and Wednesdays. In a laboratory component held on Fridays, students work in small groups on computational projects led by a Rice Learning Assistant. Cross-list: CAAM 210, CAAM 210, CAAM 210.
