Description: Beginning with a medium format film camera and an exploration of light-sensitive photo materials though exposure, film developing proofing, and darkroom printing. Continuing with digital scanning of film negatives and basic instruction in inkjet printing. Assignments include viewing, analysis, and discussion, for the purpose of finding a balance of visual awareness, technical skills, and meaning in the context of photography's continuing history. Final roster for this class will be determined by the instructor on the first day of class. Students (up to 14) who preregister will be given first priority, if they are present at the start of the first class. Additional spaces (up to the total of 19) will be filled with other students, with priority given to freshmen, sophomores, transfer students, and visual art majors.
