Description: This course will introduce students to expectations and assumptions of North American audiences, strategies for expressing ideas in individual and group conversations, and oral and visual skills needed for academic presentations. Pronunciation challenges will be diagnosed for individual students; students will use appropriate speaking programs in the Rice Language Lab; and, final projects will be related to students' studies or research.
