Description: Filmmaking is a simple, unique, and, most importantly, fun way to develop creativity and self-confidence. This course will teach you the basics of making and editing simple films in both an individual and group setting. Over the course of the semester you will learn how to make various types of videos: video blogs, sketches, music videos, and more. This course will teach you filmmaking styles and techniques used in videos found primarily in media such as YouTube and Vimeo. “Filmmaking for Fun” is more lighthearted and fun than a standard introduction to film course. You don’t need to own professional editing software or a fancy camera (or any camera at all); all you need is a bit of creativity and the desire to try new things. After each class, there will be an optional hour where the instructor will stay in the room and help any students who have questions regarding editing videos.
