Description: This advanced seminar explores phenomenological theory in the human sciences beginning with Hegel and Marx and examines its uptake in recent works of anthropological ethnography and theory. The course will focus especially upon questions of selfhood and alterity, affect and emotion, and the senses and knowledge. Cross-list: ANTH 648.
