Description: Exploration of the street as a focus of urban life in 18th and 19th century. We will look at ways streets functioned as spaces of livelihood, sociability, and transgression in cities such as London, Paris, Istanbul, Amsterdam and Cairo. Cross-list: HART 329, ARCH 329.
