Description: FALL SEMESTERS: SPRING SEMESTERS: An introduction to methods of science, living organisms, biomolecules, cells, tissues, systems, evolution and possible origin of life on earth, and genetics, followed by topics of current interest presented by local researchers. Students will develop critical thinking skills that are needed to assess the social/political/economic impact of past and current research, research applications, and scientific theories. This course is designed for non-science majors, not for premedical students or majors in the biosciences. Students with credit for BIOC 201 should not register for this course. Cross-list: GLHT 122. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for BIOC 122 if student has credit for BIOC 201.
