Description: This course seeks to provide a concept of the martial culture that evolved around the sword and the European Man-at-Arms, and how this celebratory cultural phenomenon changed throughout the period of the sword's usage in Europe. Class will then utilize this historical perspective to discover and investigate the modern legacy of the sword as portrayed in modern literature and media.
