Description: This course explores historical debates surrounding twentieth-century American conservatism. Through focused readings, class discussions, and writing assignments, students investigate the origins of the New Right and evaluate the nature of modern conservatism. Topics include cultural conflict, race, the religious right, and the impact of major political figures.
