Description: This course evaluates major themes and controversies in the history of religion and American life. Students probe the complexities and ambiguities of a contentious historical topic, reflect upon the uses of history, and engage in major historical debates. Topics include politics, culture, the religious right, Christian nationalism, and historical memory.
