Description: Formation of Earth and solar system, Earth differentiation and geochronology. Structural seismology and the composition of Earth's interior. Density, Earth's gravity, and the geoid. Heat flow and Earth energetics. Earth's core and magnetic field. Mantle convection and plate tectonics. Oceanic and continental crust. Recommended Prerequisites: MATH 101 and MATH 212 and (PHYS 101 or PHYS 111 or PHYS 125 or PHYS 141) or (PHYS 102 or PHYS 112 or PHYS 126 or PHYS 142)
