Description: A survey of Jewish-American literature from the early 20th century to the present. The course explores novels, poems, non-fiction prose, and film in context of the literary, social and political movements of the last century. Writers may include: Abraham Kahane, Anzia Yezierska, Arthur Miller, Gertrude Stein, Tillie Olsen, Allen Ginsberg, Cynthia Ozick, Philip Roth, Adrienne Rich, Michael Chaybon, Jonathan Saffron Foer, among many others.
