Description: Fall 2010 Topic: PARALLEL COMPUTING AND ADVANCED VISUALIZATION IN COMPUTATIONAL MECHANICS: This course includes a brief introduction to parallel computing and covers practical programming aspects such as problem and mesh setup and visualization. Effective programming from a computational-mechanics perspective is the main subject. Programming languages used are C and Python. Basic Unix/Linux knowledge is essential for benefiting from this course. The course is offered by Dr. Kenji Takizawa, Research Scientist in Mechanical Engineering. Please register for 3 credit hours for the Fall 2010 semester.
