Description: This course examines ways in which buildings are interpreted relative to various social and cultural contexts. We will focus on particular public format' in which interpretation strategies are formulated, namely, the architectural exhibition. The period to be examined will cover the 1970s to the present and the exhibitions to be considered will include those that were mounted at the MoMA, Heinz architectural Center, Canadian Center for Architecture, and Georges Pompidou Center, among others. The course will be conducted as a research seminar requiring each student to make weekly presentations. Repeatable for Credit.
