Description: This course discusses influential Taiwanese films since 1980 as pieces of artwork and as reflections of Taiwan's cultural, social, economic, and political changes in the past three decades. Language assignments are designed to help students develop proficiency in reading authentic materials, writing essays, and giving reports. Current collaborations among Taiwan, China, and Hong Kong in film production also included. Cross-list: CHIN 315. Recommended Prerequisites: CHIN 302 or CHIN 312.
