Description: Formulation and solution of nonlinear initial/boundary value problems using the finite element method. Variational principles for nonlinear problems, finite element discretization, and equation-solving strategies for discrete nonlinear equation systems. Applications include: materially nonlinear equation systems. Applications include: materially nonlinear systems, geometrically nonlinear systems, transient nonlinear problems, and treatment of non smooth constraints in a nonlinear framework.
