Description: This course examines the history and culture of Judaism during the Second Temple period which produced such great religious leaders as Jesus and Hillel. Topics include: Canonization, Colonization, Diaspora, Economic and Political Instability, Eschatology, Hellenization, Imperialism, Messianism, Pharisees, Priesthood, Sadducees, Scribes, Scriptures, Sectarianism, Synagogue and Temple worship.
