Description: How often have you seen TV commercials that show happy social occasions or beautiful scenery while a voice drones on about a medication's most appalling side effects? This course will create a path to advanced English courses that require sophisticated analysis of images as well as arguments in a culture or social context. It will emphasize how visuals and words combine in genres such as ads, illustrations, computer displays, and political flyers to represent individuals, events, and social settings.
