Description: Examination of the political and cultural discussions of the "Woman Question" in 19th-century Europe. Includes the role of public and private legal right in republicanism and the early feminist movement, gender equality in the context of 19th-century socialist movements, and the challenges to gender identity posed by cultural modernism.
