Description: Continuation of CHIN 411, aims to help students further develop oral and writing skills to provide structured arguments for supporting opinions, to construct hypotheses, to discuss abstract topics, and to critique sociopolitical issues. Continued emphasis on developing communicative strategies, discourse styles, cultural literacy, and the ability to read Classical Chinese texts. Upon completion, students are expected to write approx. 1400 Chinese characters. Recommended prerequisite(s): Ability to write 1200 characters. Recommended Prerequisite: CHIN 411.
