Description: Independent research in Rice BCB faculty laboratories (section 1) or other Texas Medical Center laboratories (section 2). Students spend at least 3 hours per week in the laboratory for each semester hour of credit. If taken for 3 or more hours, counts as one required lab course but not as a Group A or Group B course. Requires a proposal abstract, weekly reports, and a research paper (fall semester) or a poster presentation (spring semester). Recommended: Instructor permission. Students are strongly advised to secure research advisors and register for the class well in advance of the start of classes. Repeatable for Credit.
