Description: The course introduces ethnic and minority studies of fiction and essays by Jewish Germans from the Enlightenment unlit after 1945. What is this "Hyphenated" identity? Has the holocaust rendered a dual identity impossible? We consider how the dilemmas of assimilation relate to contemporary cultural struggles.
