Description: Multi-core microprocessors are becoming the norm. The course will focus on emerging multi-core processor architectures and challenges to using them effectively. Topics include multi-core microcompressors, memory hierarchy, synchronization, programming systems, scheduling, and transactional memory. Recommended Prerequisite(s): (COMP 221 or COMP 320 or COMP 425) or instructor's permission.
