Description: Survery of the emergence and eventual dominance of the scientific world-view, particularly in Europe, in the modern period. Topics include: the institutionalization of science, Newtonian physics and its implications, Enlightenment faith in reason, the statistical world-view, psychology, public health, eugenics, and the atomic bomb.
