Description: The Soviet experiment ended in 1989, but is legacies continue in Russia today. Lecture course explores the formation of the Soviet Union, the development of Soviet socialism, and the causes of the collapse, using novels, memoirs, films, and documents to examine politics, culture, and society during the "Soviet" 20th century.
