Description: The course will describe the relationship between the chemical structure and the biological action of natural and synthetic drug molecules. Emphasis will be placed on the underlying principles of medicinal chemistry as well as specific therapeutic agents. Organization will be according to pharmacological classification with discussion of how chemical properties relate to drug mechanism of action and disposition.
