Description: The course examines efficiency, fairness, and incentive- compatibility in problems involving trade and production. Topics include: equality, competitive trade; the No Envy test; Stand Alone test; the Shapley value; theories of the social contract such as utilitarianism and egalitarianism; including impossibility results of Arrow and Gibbard- Satterthwaite.
