Description: Based on the tension implicit in this perceptual/material shift, this seminar seeks to straddle this divid through the strategic deployment of digital fabrication techniques in the design and construction of form active structural surfaces. The objective of the seminar is to engage digital fabrication in two ways. First, to explore a conceptual framework and a technical model of modulating continuous structural surfaces that does not realy on self-similar modularity. Second, to investigate material assemblies that not only enable new forms and material effects, but alos sublimate the hierarchical separation of skin and frame.
