Description: Introduction to the nature of economics. Includes price systems, household decisions, cost and supply, marginal productivity and capital theory, industrial organization and control, economic efficiency, externalities, and public goods. Required for economics and mathematical economic analysis majors. May also be offered in the summer. Students (both majors and non-majors) enrolled at Rice who wish to transfer this course from another institution must pass a departmental qualifying examination.
