Description: URBAN EDUCATION: ISSUES, POLICY, AND PRACTICE ***** Major issues facing urban education, including poverty, the implications of racial and ethnic diversity for educational institutions, and strategies for improving academic achievement in urban schools. We will examine sociological, political, cultural and educational research and theory, as well as explore strategies for improvement of urban education at the classroom, school and policy levels.
