Description: PHARMACEUTICAL ENGINEERING ***** This course will examine how pharmaceutical active agents function in the body and how they are delivered to the body. Topics to be covered include the kinetics of drug absorption and tissue distribution along with the transport phenomena associated with the release bioactive agents. Focus will be placed on mathematical modeling of pharmacokinetic and diffusional processes. ***** Prerequisite(s): BIOE 391 or permission of instructor ***** Instructor(s): Nichol Cross-list: BIOE 625.
