Description: MAPPRING GERMAN CULTURE: EUROPEAN WOMEN FILMMAKERS ***** Filmmaking has celebrated its first hundred years. Women's contributions were significant and deserve to widen the film canon for all filmgoers. This course will concentrate on films by European women directors, taking into account historical pioneering, cultural identities, aesthetics particularities, gender commitment, subject orientations and post-feminist attempts. Importance will also be given to the contexts and conditions of women's film production. All films subtitled in English.
