Description: PHILOSOPHICAL, HISTORICAL, AND SOCIAL FOUNDATIONS OF EDUCATION ***** Analysis of events and ideas that have shaped the philosophy and practice of American schools today. Requires at least 15 hours of observation in secondary schools. May be required for students earning teacher certification, but also appropriate for all students interested in the influences and stresses that have created a unique educational system in our culturally diverse country.
