Description: Are you interested in space? Have you ever wondered how our Solar System formed? Do you want to learn about and have hands-on experience in rocks from outer space? This is the course for you. The course aims to introduce students to cosmochemistry by group discussing and reading literature on how the Solar System evolved from dust to planets, how asteroids and inner planets evolved, how to extract and use chemical information from planetary materials, how to acquire and study planetary materials, and space missions planned by worldwide space agencies. Recommended Prerequisite(s): Prior courses in petrography, inorganic chemistry or geochemistry are desirable.
