Description: Ever wonder how Alexander Hamilton got out of the history books and onto the Broadway stage? There are many components that bring a musical from concept to performance. There are writers, composers, actors, choreographers, lighting, and sound designers that all work together to make it happen, but what comes first? How do you get started in that process? The goal of this course is to learn how musical ideas are put together, learning the different processes that make a musical impactful to its audience. Through discussion on specific musical scenes, a deep dive into the roles involved, and the analysis of different musical theater productions, you will learn what truly happens behind the scenes to make a story come to life. No musical or musical theater knowledge is required.
