Description: While Jewish culture is bounded by many things, including the faith itself, the celebration of holidays, and the values imparted through learning, the most important facilitator of Jewish culture may actually be its food. The course asks the essential question: How does food shape, as well as reflect, Jewish culture and does this apply to other cultures? Through Feasting Through Jewish History students will develop this idea further and discover what cohesive forces food employs, all while learning how to make these important traditional foods in the Kitchen. This course is designed with all in mind, whether a student has lived with these foods their entire life or is brand new to learning about Judaism.
