Description: Have you ever heard a comedian deliver a hilarious one-liner and thought to yourself “I could do that”? If the answer is yes, no, or anything in between, this is the class for you. In this course, you will learn to write and perform stand-up comedy. As a consequence, whether you’re interested in public embarrassment, public speaking, or just plain publicity, you’ll be funnier and more confident in your day-to-day, week-to-week, and month-to-month life. You’ll learn how to turn everyday laughs into stadium-selling routines (or at least, slightly larger laughs). From studying the greats of comedy to watching it live in the classroom from your peers (and maybe even your professor), you’ll learn the ins and outs of joke writing and performing to be able to perfect a tight 5 that you can take to parties, weddings, funerals, 5Ks, and the final performance of the semester!
