Description: This course bridges engineering principles with management and strategic leadership in energy-intensive industries. Building on the foundation of CHBE 548, students learn how engineering concepts are applied across the full energy and industrial value chain—from oil exploration and production (E&P), transportation, and refining, to chemicals, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, fertilizers, and related sectors. The course introduces core management concepts including strategic planning, operations management, project finance, supply chain logistics, risk assessment, and organizational leadership—all within the context of real-world industrial systems. Students develop skills to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and make strategic decisions that balance economic, environmental, and social objectives. Assessment is entirely project- and report-based; there is no midterm or final exam. Recommended Prerequisite(s): CHBE 548
