Description: This course examines various configurations of (what we today call) “queerness” across cultures, both ancient and contemporary. Engaging with a wide variety of texts across genres and mediums—myths, folktale, short stories, poetry, music, cinema, TV shows—we will study how conceptions of gender and sexuality vary widely between different historical and sociocultural contexts.
