Description: The central challenge in policy evaluation is establishing a causal link between interventions and outcomes. This course introduces the main econometric methods used to evaluate public policies and social programs. Theoretical discussions are complemented by real-world applications, including case studies and empirical exercises based on actual policy interventions. Students will engage with quantitative evaluations using real data and will work with statistical and econometric software to apply the methods in practice. Cross-list: ECON 624. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for ECON 421 if student has credit for ECON 624.
